This country house is located at the village of Varianni, Gravia.
The area of Gravia is situated at a mountainous landscape where rock complexes are the leading characteristic, creating a strong feeling of rigidity.
The village is considered a traditional preserved setting and there are legal restrictions regarding constructional methods and morphological aspects.
As a result of this, the village is a very interesting example of traditional architecture with main characteristics, the thick stone walls and the
timber terraces and pitched roofs.
Taking in consideration the natural characteristics and the traditions in building construction technologies of the area we came up with the particular proposal.
We tried to create a building that would form the extension of its rocky plot.
The building will be used as a weekend escape for a family of five.
The interior arrangement suggests the living room, dining room kitchen and guess room to be on the lower level,
while four good sized rooms are situated on the upper level.
